GameLAB

Other Projects

GameLAB is a public engagement project that weaves together science, electronic gaming and education. A competitive “game jam” workshop series brings together game developers and OUCRU scientists as teams compete to develop high impact games around ideas of biomedical research, science and health education.

The process will ensure that the important work of real-world scientists can be developed into real-world, playable games inspired by OUCRU research. These games are then brought to the public at key events around Ho Chi Minh City, allowing audiences to experience the games, and connect with the game designers and scientists who made them.

This unique format has never been tried in Asia and is set to reach a large mainstream audience.  It’s taking the science to the street and we are proud that this flagship project has been given an opportunity to thrive in this gaming nation, Vietnam.
